Rail (intermodal)
Intermodal freight transport involves the transportation of freight in an intermodal container or vehicle, using multiple modes of transportation (rail and truck), without any handling of the cargo itself when changing modes. This method reduces cargo handling, and so, improves security, reduces damages and loss, and allows the freight to be transported faster.
Taking advantage of our established relationships with major intermodal asset providers means you experience flexibility, reliability and cost-efficiency. We offer, Full Container, Less Than Container, Hazmat and Expedited services with access to all standard container sizes.
Additional benefits to intermodal shipping include:
Lower insurance rates due to reduced opportunity for theft with fewer road miles
With intermodal lanes having the rail ramp closer to the final destination, it’s easier to ensure on-time delivery
Higher capacity
Lane Visibility
